The day we've been looking forward to all year. I started out on the Billy Wolff headed toward downtown, but the congestion was getting on my nerves. Since no one was driving, the trails were packed with cyclists going every which way! Similar to what BSNYC calls "bike Salmon" so I pulled off and just decided to ride on the streets to work. It was shocking how quiet the city was with no cars, just the sounds of birds singing and the clicking of shifters and the tat, tat, tat, click, click of derailleurs. Everyone was smiling, instead of looking so hateful out of their car windows. And once at work their endorphin high made them so productive that they did a days worth of work in an hour. Leaving more time to bike ride!
*** Beep *** Beep *** Beep *** Beep ***
Augh! Crud! It was just that same old dream again. Oh well, time to get up and ride to work...
Seriously, it was a gorgeous morning for a ride. Basically no wind and just a lot of fun. If you rode, you know what I mean. It's like a little known treasure, it's free and tons of fun - it's a bike ride, pure and simple. Just because we're all grown-up and old doesn't mean we have to act like it. Don't be a stick in the mud. Life is short enjoy a few minutes of it every morning and afternoon instead of stewing in traffic.
