Dinner (not to be confused with supper) at Pepe's with bicycling comedian Tom Snyders.

Tom Snyders was passing through Lincoln on his way to the Boulder International Fringe Festival in Colorado. I asked him if he'd join me at Pepe's on his way out of town. We met up on the Superior St trail and rode over. As always, Pepe served up some awesome Mexican! I loved hearing Tom's fascinating tails from biking over 150,000 miles touring around the globe.

30 cyclist skipped work and braved a light rain today to ride around Lincoln on the NSFW (Not Sorry (for) Forgetting Work) Ride.

The ride was just over 43 miles and included stops at 5 Lincoln bike shops and lunch.

A special thanks to the Great Plains Bike Club, Joyride, Bike Pedalers, The Bike Rack & both Cycle Works locations, as well as Havelock area restaurants for making the NSFW ride so fun!

Including the ride there and back, and an evening spin with our youngest I logged 60.7 miles for the day.

Weather clears up for an afternoon commute.

Yesterday morning brought some very wet, slushy snow to Lincoln. My bike's slick tires are worthless in those conditions, so I played it safe and drove. This morning wasn't much better with light rain and a heavy headwind.

I hauled the bike to work and as conditions improved I was able to ride home. On the way I stopped at Pepe's and Cycle Works to drop off some NSFW flyers. I'll replenish the other sponsoring bike shops early next week. Today's miles = 11.2

First full week of riding in 2010 yeilds 200 miles.

I rode the trails to the office this morning, then met up with Craig at Lincoln cyclist's favorite hangout for Sunday lunch, at Pepe's in Havelock.

After some great grub we headed west on the Superior St. Trail, rode around the Highlands loop, past Oak Lake then West on the Mopac. We then split up and I went South on the 84th St. Trail to Wal-Mart on Hwy 2, then back on the Billy Wolff. After some food and a break at home I rode West on Pioneers to the Rock Island Trail and took it to the Zoo before coming home on the Billy Wolff. Today's miles = 47.3 making this week a 200+ mile week. This week was so much fun! Here's hoping you'll make time to enjoy the outdoors in the days to come.

With a high today of 34' it was a great day to get out on the bike after a rotten winter. I had some work to do at the office this morning so I rode the city trails across town for the years first work commute. The trails had icy spots and the underpasses had thick ice that'll be around for awhile.

After working I met up with some cycling friends at Pepe's for his 'biker special'. The food was great as we made plans for a summer full of riding bliss.

Once I left Pepe's I ran across the Tin Man and Scarecrow hanging out in the Havelock neighborhood of Lincoln. I asked the Tin Man if he'd like to grab his bike and join me for a ride... but, he didn't have the heart.

I headed East out of town and ran across some wildlife enjoying these balmy temps today too.

I worked my way South down some gravel roads before turning back tward home.

It was a great way to spend part of the weekend outdoors and get a few miles in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're going to be leaving winter behind us soon. Today's miles = 24.6 February's total miles = 93

Pepe's serves up great food specials for bikers on Sundays.

Pepe's Vegimex Bistro on Havelock Ave. is brimming with incredible dishes and over flowing with bikeculture. On Sundays Pepe gives patrons who ride to his restaurant anything off the menu for just $5.00! I rode through some snowy streets out there and ran into a handful of other Lincoln cyclist. Great food, friends & atmosphere.

I rode to work this morning under a big bright moon. After work I rode along the banks of Salt Creek toward UNL to meet up with the local hipsters to ride to Pepe's for some amazing mexican. I opted for the sweet potato casedia, yum!

We ended up at Earls for wood flavored pop corn and pool. I then shot strait home down 48th with a stiff tailwind. The high was 60', but tomorrow's is only 38' with really strong winds and things aren't looking much better the rest of the week. Today's miles = 28.5

I rode to work today and after work I met up with a group of some of Lincoln's coolest cyclist to ride to Pepe's for some great mexican followed by a few laps.

I loved how one of the group had made his own bike light out of an old Altoids (mints) tin. It worked great and looked even better. That was so cool!

There is no free lunch in life. But, bike commuters get free breakfast today at Pepe's!

Cyclist were treated one more time to a free breakfast at Pepe's vegetarian mexican resturant before they start back up again next spring.

Pepe's is open Tue-Sun for some amazing lunches and dinners in the Havlock neighborhood of Lincoln.

It was a cool ride in with temps just below freezing and the ride home found me pushing into a headwind, but any day on the bike is a good day!
