Good evening.

It was a good evening to grab the bike and go for a quick ride before bed. I spun the legs out on the South Point loop racking up 7.7 miles in around 1/2 an hour. It's one of the nicest paths in all of Lincoln's 128 miles of bike paths and is a quick way to get to shopping and dining.

Getting lost at home.

I had to work on the road today. But this evening I found time to get lost and find myself. I took a short spin around the new neighborhood just exploring and bumming around. Nothing like a leisurely cruise to take the edge off a workweek. I love it here! Tonight's miles = 4.75

Easy street

Take a break from the hassles of driving and bike to work. With construction, auto repairs and the price of gas, sometimes the path less traveled really is easier. Yesterday I had an abbreviated commute after taking the car to the shop to get worked on. I just hauled the bike and rode to the office from there. Yesterday's miles from the mechanic's to work and back = 15.64

9 to 5... And then some.

I got to work in the office again today rather than on the road out of town. That means I can bike to work. But I wish it was more biking and less working. I had a tailwind on the trip home that turned my mood around and put today in the books on a high note. Today's miles = 20.58

10-20? On the DL.

Comments have been made in person, emails and on FB regarding my lack of riding and blogging. Well today I rode the tailwind to work. Then trudged home against a tough headwind and 100' heat. The Austro-Daimler found a piece of glass on the way home and Bob was there to lend a hand getting me up and going. I stopped off at MWC for a new tube and some Co2s of air before finishing the commute. Today's miles = 21.03

Last week I rode to work and back 1 1/2 times adding on another 30.8 miles.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a nod of approval to the interweb's newest blogger. Ladies and Gents, let me introduce to you cyclingcounsel

Bike To Work Week kick-off event.

Today was the Bike To Work week kick-off event downtown to get the word out about next weeks designation as Bike To Work Week. There was a good crowd on hand. I had to work out of town, so I only got 10.1 miles in today.

Movement

Biking to work can be a lot like pooping. If you wait to long, it can be hard, exhausting, embarrassing and smell bad. But if you ride to work regularly you'll find it fast, easy, enjoyable, and good for your health.

For those of us who need a gentle reminder, next week is Bike To Work Week with a kickoff event tomorrow morning downtown.

Today's miles on the ride to work and back = 20.74

Ride around.

I rode to work and found where some moron moved a picnic table across the shortcut from Holdrege St to the John Dietrich. It'd have been tough to see in the dark and could have caused a heck of a wreck. I had a sweet tail wind. I spent the day working on the road, so I only got a 1/2 a commute in equaling 10.2 miles.

Happy 5th Birthday Nacho Ride!

I took the Felt to work and found a sticker, otherwise it was a nice trip in.

Afterward, I rode straight to the Mopac trailhead for the 5th anniversary Nacho Ride. Council was rocking his 'fancy' socks and Phil had desert to help us celebrate. There was a good crowd. The ride home is quite a bit farther than it used to be, and it's not just me whining because I'm so out of shape. It was a perfect night to be out on the bike and I parked it with 43.1 miles for the day.

Getting reacquainted with the Rock Island.

Yesterday was my first commute to the new abode. I drove to work, then rode the Astro-Daimler home. I was shocked to find that it wasn't more miles or time than I had thought it'd be. Yesterday's miles on the 1/2 commute = 10.56
